I hope everyone had a nice weekend!
Last week, a friend of mine, Giselle, asked me to participate in a virtual blog tour. It is a great way for bloggers to share more about blogging, what goes into a blog post and why they started writing.
I was fortunate to meet Giselle a couple of years ago when we were still living in Sacramento. She has an adorable little boy close to Keenan’s age so we met up for a play date and hit it off. Since we were both new to blogging at the time, we helped each other along the way and also found that we had many similarities including our love for health and fitness. I always enjoy reading her blog posts, seeing her latest recipe creations and DIY ideas!
Here is a little bit more about Giselle:
” Giselle is a 30 something stay at home mom to her Love Nugget, wife to her Hubby, self proclaimed health and fitness fanatic. She loves to share fitness tips, workouts, healthy recipes, nutrition news, party planning and everything else in between on her blog. You can follow her on Facebook and twitter!”
Here are the four questions I was given to answer for the tour:
What am I working on?
I’m currently working on a couple of new home CrossFit workouts and a recipe that will be coming soon. But, I’m also in the process of revamping my site. I’ve been thinking about re-branding for a while, but we’ll see how things go. After blogging for two years, I’m excited to change things up a bit!
How does my work differ than others of its genre?
I aim to keep things real and never sugar-coat the truth. Being a mom is a hard work and now having two kids in tow, it’s even MORE work. I can only imagine what it would be like with 3 or more children! I always try to stay true to myself and not lose my identity because I became a mother and decided to stay home. Being a mother doesn’t mean you have to let yourself go. I love inspire other moms to be fit and be their best self without sacrificing their sense of identity. I love to share healthy recipes, workouts, tips and my crazy adventures navigating through mommyhood. I feel I offer a great balance of health, fitness and parenting info/ideas for moms-to-be, new moms and even those without kids!
Why do I write what I do?
I love helping others lead healthier lifestyles, especially new moms. With children in tow, in can be difficult to find ways to stay fit, so I love to help moms make time for exercise and eating healthy so they can be the best that they can be for their families. The ultimate reward (or cherry on top!) is receiving a comment or email from a reader thanking me for sharing a workout, recipe or being honest about motherhood!
How does my writing process work?
I try to plan out my posts a month in advance, but since having Mirella, I haven’t really stayed true to that. It has been hard to stay organized lately (which is one of my goals that I’m working on for this year!). Currently, I plan out my posts a week or two weeks in advance, but if something comes up (or is on my mind), I might change things around. I typically write during nap times or after my kids have gone to bed in the evenings (but I find that my brain works better during the day!).
Okay, enough about me, it’s time to introduce Renee from Fit For Motherhood! She is one amazing mommy to four beautiful girls (two of them being identical one year old twins!). She is so inspiring because she still manages to stay fit and true to herself while being a fantastic mother to four children! I don’t know how she does it!
“Renee is a wife and mom to four little girls, including a set of one year old twins. To say her life is busy is an understatement, but staying fit and healthy is important. She loves to inspire other moms to take care of themselves through healthy living. Being a mom is not easy, so taking the time to take care of yourself is a must. She encourages people to live a balanced lifestyle; everything in moderation. Renee loves to talk about all things family, fitness, food, and more; her girls are her top priority. Join her on her wild adventure through motherhood and life in general, all while trying to be fit and healthy; most of the time. She loves new recipes, trying different types of exercise, and enjoying her family.”
Thanks for reading, and thank you, Giselle, for including me in this tour!
Have a great day!
Thank you for participating Melissa and for the kind words 🙂 I love your realness, your recipes and your workouts! I wish you guys were still closer but someday hopefully we’ll make a conference together. Or make it down for a visit 🙂
Yes, hopefully a conference and a visit! I’d love to have you do a wod with me in our garage gym!
