Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome to the new “me,” or my new site!!
If you have been following my blog at Fit ‘n’ Well Mommy, you probably saw my post last month about change. Finally, after much thought, time and work, my new site is ready and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Since having children, I have grown and changed in so many ways including my blog. I see the world through their eyes and they have taught me to appreciate the little things in life and to not sweat the small stuff (even though it can be hard to always remember that!).
I’ve also learned to love and accept myself in order to be my best self for my family. I want to be the best mom that I can be, but also not lose sight of who I am. I’ve learned to forget about the comparisons, the ridiculous number on the scale and be proud of my body, the one that gave birth to two beautiful children and the one that gets me through a grueling CrossFit wod.
Many women (and moms) who I have worked with have lost their sense of self after having kids. Longing to lose the baby weight, they took care of everyone else first, thus giving up and letting themselves go. Most significantly, they stopped loving themselves.
Since Valentine’s Day is the holiday to express love for those you care about, don’t forget about you! Being a mommy doesn’t have to mean sacrifice. Look at yourself in the mirror and learn to love and accept yourself. Rock those skinny jeans and boots with confidence, be the strong, fit, healthy woman and mom that you are!
Questions:
When do you take time for yourself?
Any fun plans for Valentine’s Day?
Oh, I love the new look and the new name!!!
Yes, I struggled with losing my sense of self when I first had my boys and stayed home with them. It took me years to find peace in my new role and still maintain a part of me!
Hope you are having a great Saturday!
Thank you!
Love your new blog! Happy happy posting!
Thank you!
This is outstanding!!!! Love it
As women we do at times more than we realize we forget about us. I’ve been taught it’s vital that we make an appointment with ourselves each week, it’s not selfish it’s healthy and were worth it
Yes, it is so vital to take time for ourselves!
Congratulations!!! This is fantastic and so needed. As women we do forget about ourselves, and we are so important. At 59 I’ve had to learn to make an appointment with myself every week to recharge my being!! Taking care of us is the best gift we can give to our family
Love the new look and name! Hope you had an amazing day!
Thank you!
I am glad that you know that you have to be the best you can be before you can do your best for your children.
Love you,
nonna
Thanks, mom!
