For the first time in forever (not that I’ve watched Frozen a dozen times or anything!), my husband was off the entire weekend! I can’t even remember the last time he had the WHOLE weekend off where he didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to work a few hours before taking the rest of the day off. To celebrate having him home all weekend, you would think we would have gone somewhere, but we decided to ย enjoy being home and spend some quality family time together. It was one of the best weekends we have had in a long time!
To kick off today’s Marvelous In My Monday, here are some of the marvelous things that happened over the weekend…
My husband being on a baking kick and making some fabulous chocolate chip bacon cookies yesterday (no, they are not one bit healthy, but they are oh, so good!). Everything in moderation, right?
Enjoying an amazing apple, cheddar and sausage pot pie with sauteed carrots that my husband made for our “at home date night” on Saturday. It was actually my first pot pie that I have eaten, can you believe it? Of course, I forgot to take a picture!
Seeing my two cuties have so much fun playing together while I was cooking dinner. They both adore each other so much and I hope that it continues as they get older.
That’s it for today. Have a good one!
Questions:
What was marvelous about your weekend?
Have you ever had a pot pie? What do you like in it?
So awesome that you were able to enjoy the entire weekend with your husband.
I’ve never been a huge potpie fan. The bacon in the cookies sounds interesting.
Fun to see your kiddos playing together!!!
The bacon in the cookies sounds weird, but it totally works! I just wish my husband made a small batch!
Omg your babies are adorable!!
I’m glad you got to spend time with the hubby! And yummy cookies!
Thank you!!
If you don’t mind, can you send your hubby this way to bake me some cookies & pot pie! Actually go ahead and make it a family trip. We can hang out while he gets busy in the kitchen. Ha!
Haha, that would be awesome!!
Chocolate chip bacon cookies?! Don’t tell my husband those exist! I would have to make them wayyy too often. I’m sure the sweet/salty tastes make a good combo.
Now that cheddar apple sausage pot pie does sound excellent. I’ve actually never made a homemade pot pie before :s That’s probably something I should try this holiday season! Chicken pot pie is my favorite.
Your kids are so cute together! This weekend I enjoyed spending time with my family all together and with grandma and grandpa, too. Our little man loves being with grandma and grandpa! I can’t wait til baby #2 is here and the siblings can play together ๐ It will be a while until they can truly enjoy each other, but in the future it will be so fun to watch them bond!
Yes, chocolate chips and bacon work so well together!! I just wish he only made a small batch, because it’s torture having them in our house! ๐ Seeing both of your kids play together is so much fun. It melts my heart every time!
That’s awesome that you got to enjoy a weekend home together! I’ve been wanting to make chicken pot pie for a few weeks now but keep putting it off since it’s such a process. I always put it on our menu but just wing it or have left overs when it comes up. Need to do it soon because they are so good!
It was such a nice weekend and the pot pie was delicious! I’ve already asked my husband to make another one! ๐
