I hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to enjoy the gorgeous Spring weather!
I’m going to keep today’s post short and sweet. We had a marvelous weekend visiting our alumni, UC Davis, for its’ annual Picnic Day celebration on Saturday. We have made this an annual family outing, since there are so many fun events for kids, plus it’s always fun to go back and visit, especially since things have changed so much since my husband and I went there 11 years ago (crazy to think it was that long!).
Keenan had a blast playing robot soccer in the engineering department with Daddy…
Sitting in a medical helicopter with Baba…
And of course visiting the fire station (with Baba again!)…
We ended the day with Keenan’s favorite treat, ice cream (which I completely forgot to take a picture of!).
BUT, the weekend was also marvelous because I discovered Overnight Oats and tried them for the first time! Why didn’t I know about this before? I think I had read about them a while ago on other blogs, but for some reason I forgot and never made them. Oh my gosh, it’s now one of my favorite breakfasts that is SUPER simple to make and so convenient. Since we planned to leave early on Saturday morning, I put the oats together on Friday night and it was so nice to just wake up, dish the oats out, eat and go! Look for the recipe later this week! I can’t wait to share it with you!
Last, but not least, the weekend couldn’t have ended on a better note with these two! Mirella just loves to sit with her brother!
Thanks, Katie, for hosting another Marvelous In My Monday!
Have a good one!
Questions:
What was marvelous about your weekend?
Have you gone back and visited your college since you graduated?
What a great looking weekend!! And I have read about overnight oats for years now, but I’ve never tried them either…I guess I need to do that 🙂
You have to try them; they are SO good! I love how easy they are, especially when mornings can be kind of hectic with two kids in tow! 🙂
ADORABLE picture of Keenan and Mirella! She is just too cute!
Sounds like a great weekend! We’ve never been to picnic days but always hear it’s a good time. Maybe next year 🙂
Thank you! You should definitely go to next year’s picnic day, it is so geared towards kids!
