When I see a new nut butter on the market, I always want to try it, especially since so many offer their own unique ingredients and flavorings. When I saw nuts ‘n more, I was very intrigued since it contains 12 grams of protein per 2 Tbsp serving! Regular peanut and almond butters offer 6-7 grams of protein per serving. Nuts ‘n more adds whey protein to their nut butters (which increases the protein), flaxseed, as well as xylitol for a sweetener and other natural flavorings, depending on the specific flavor. Even with adding the whey, the calories still stay around 185, where as other brands that add additional ingredients almost always increase the calories to well over 200.

Nuts ‘n more was created by a team of fitness and nutrition experts who wanted a high quality, high protein nut butter for themselves and their clients. Since many nut butters are thick and chunky, they wanted something that contained natural ingredients, but was spreadable, which is why they created their own line of nut butters. They have also recently added almond protein powder.

Nuts ‘n more sent me their chocolate peanut butter and toffee crunch peanut butter. Since I love PB and chocolate, I was really excited about trying that one first. The chocolate peanut butter was very balanced of both flavors and I loved how easy it was to spread and how it melted onto my bowl of oat bran The texture was definitely different; it was a little grainy, but not too much to bother me, especially mixed into my oats. For my husband, the texture immediately turned him off. He loved the flavor of both peanut butters, but he didn’t care for the graininess. As for the toffee crunch, I liked it, but it wasn’t my favorite. Keenan loved the toffee crunch more than the chocolate peanut butter. I gave him apple slices with the toffee crunch spread on top for a snack and he loved it!

Would I go out and stock up on nuts ‘n more nut butters? Yes, probably their chocolate peanut butter and maybe try another flavor. For me, I love the added protein, flaxseed, natural sweeteners and fun flavors, especially adding a dollop to my morning bowl of oats. It gives my breakfast an added protein boost (without a lot of extra calories), which is great after my morning workout. Though I haven’t tried it yet, I’m sure the chocolate peanut butter would also taste great in a protein shake. For those who love nut butters as much as I do and want something that has added nutrition to fuel their bodies pre and post workouts (or just to eat anytime!), I’d recommend nuts ‘n more products. But, if you get hung up on texture, be prepared for the graininess.

The folks at nuts ‘n more are so generous that they have offered to giveaway one nut butter to one lucky reader!!
