So…Keenan and I went and looked at some puppies this morning! Isn’t she adorable?
She is a Rhodesian Ridge back and Boxer mix. She was so sweet and loving. She licked our fingers and chewed on them the whole time while wagging her cute little tail! We both really liked her, so we completed an adoption application and hopefully we will hear back soon. We also saw some orange male kittens that were very sweet, so we might get one, too!
Anyhow, I can’t believe it has already been two weeks since my last update! This pregnancy is going by at light speed, so much faster than what I remember when I was pregnant with Keenan.
Things are going well and I’m feeling bigger kicks as the days go by. Keenan and my husband felt the baby kick for the first time last weekend. Keenan was SO excited! If you ask him today whether he is going to have a brother or a sister, he still says a brother AND a sister! We keep telling him that there is only one baby in my tummy, but he is determined to have both! Silly boy!
Cravings: My cravings have pretty much remained the same. I’ve been eating salami sandwiches and veggie chips for lunch like they are going out of style. I’ve also been eating peanut butter filled pretzels. I can’t seem to get enough of them. It seems all I want these days are salty, savory foods. Fortunately, I’m still craving lots of salads and veggies to balance out the fat and calories from the salami, ha!
Eating: Still hungry all the time!
Emotions: Good, a little more sensitive, but not overly emotional (my husband might say otherwise!).
Skin: Things have finally cleared up, except for the little pimple here and there. My dark spots are starting to lighten and my skin is starting to go back to normal, thank goodness!
Weight gain: The same as my last update. I’ve gained a total of 17 pounds so far, which isn’t too bad. Though, I worry how much more I will gain with 18 weeks left!
Workouts: I’m still doing CrossFit four days a week in my backyard and/or garage gym (though it’s still not officially done), as well as a couple dance sessions with Keenan here and there. I’m continuing to include running in my WODs, but I’ve cut back on double unders since they are starting to feel uncomfortable. I feel great and even better on the days when I workout!
Sleep: With my belly getting bigger, I had to get my body pillow out last weekend. I was reluctant to use it, since it takes up so much space and my husband calls it the big “blockade.” But, after sleeping with it that first night, I felt a world of a difference! I could finally get comfortable and have restful nights’ sleep again.
Questions:
Have you ever raised a puppy and kitten together? If so, did they grow up to be best friends?
Are we crazy to be getting a puppy and a kitten when we will be having a baby in a few months?
If you have been pregnant, what was your most weirdest/craziest craving that you had to have?
We don’t have pets but I could see that having a cat and/or dog would be good for Keenan after you have the baby.
And – you look awesome!!! So cute!
Thanks, Kim! He loves animals and has been wanting a dog for a while, so I think it will be a great addition to our family.
Oh I love these updates…I hear you on the peanut butter pretzels. I want peanut butter on anything right now!
Yes, I totally agree! I could have peanut butter on everything, too!
The puppy is too cute! I hope you hear back good news! How fun! You are looking amazing and I love the updates!
Thanks! I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Oh my gosh, that puppy is too cute! I hope you get to bring her home. And a kitten too?! I’m jealous. I can’t convince the man to let me get a cat. But I used to have a kitten when my two dogs were less than a year old and they all got along great. I just had to keep the litter box out of their reach because they like to eat cat poop! Ew.
You look gorgeous, btw! I love the picture with your little boy, so adorable.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we get to bring her home! I haven’t stopped thinking about her all day! It’s good to hear that your kitten and dogs all got along well. I’m hoping ours will be best buds. Hopefully one of these days you can convince your man to get a kitten!
We have a boxer (lab/boxer mix) & they are by far the sweetest dogs. I sure hope you guys hear back soon & end up getting him. Maybe Keenan will then be content with just one sibling, Ha Ha =)
That’s awesome! I’ve heard so many good things about boxers! We heard back yesterday late afternoon and we officially adopted her today! We are so excited!!
That puppy is adorable (and YES YOU ARE CRAZY)! With Malone (my preschooler) I ate tons of Italian Grinders (grinder = sub/hoagie in New England) with extra pepperoni. This past pregnancy, with Lola I ate my weight in grapes!
We are definitely crazy for getting a puppy now, but I figure a little chaos doesn’t hurt anyone, right?! Only time will tell!
She is adorable. Can’t wait to meet her! What are you calling her?
