I hope everyone’s day is going well and you are staying warm! I still can’t get over how cold it has been here (lows in the 20’s and highs in the upper 40’s). I love winter, but for us wimpy Californians, it’s cold!

Since it has been so cold, Keenan and I have been enjoying some fun holiday crafts inside with the fire going while listening to Christmas music! Today, we had fun making a snowman using cotton balls and a glittery star in which Keenan used every last bit of glitter (and it got everywhere, too!).

Snowman:

1. Take a piece of white construction paper and cut three big circles and glue them together to make a snowman’s body.

2. Use anything that you have on hand for the eyes, nose and buttons, or your child could also draw them. I had some leftover puff balls from a previous craft we did in the Spring, so Keenan wanted to use them. Also, draw a hat out of black construction paper, cut it out and glue onto the top of the snowman’s head.

3. Pour some glue in a small dish and have your child dip cotton balls in the glue before pasting them onto the snowman for their “snow.” You could also have your child drizzle glue all over the snowman’s body and just place the cotton balls on top. Either way works and you have a puffy snowman!

Glittery star:

1. Trace a star on a piece of colored construction paper of your child’s choice.

2. Have you child make a “glue design,” as I like to say.

3. Sprinkle glitter all over.

4. There you have it, a shiny, glittery star!

That’s is for today. Have a good one!
