I hope everyone’s start to the week is going well! It was so nice to be home as a family yesterday and continue getting things done around the house, as well as spending some quality time together, especially since Keenan is still battling the never ending cold (going on three weeks now!). How did you spend yesterday?

Anyhow, since Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away (which I still can’t believe!), Keenan and I had a fun-filled morning doing a simple turkey handprint craft for kids. We did one last year, so I thought it would be fun to start a tradition and make one every year (well, maybe not when he is a teenager, ha!) to compare the growth of his hands.

Keenan couldn’t wait to get started after he saw that I cut out the heads, beak and feet!

He colored his hands with markers (though, towards the end he got tired and asked me to color them) and I helped him “stamp” them on white paper. Next, I cut his handprints out while he colored the eyes on white round sticker dots.

Last, but not least, Keenan and I glued all of the pieces together, using his handprints for the feathers, adding the head, feet, beak and eyes on a piece of construction paper to complete his turkey!

I think I like the one we did today better than last years, but I still like using the paper plate for the base instead of construction paper. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any paper plates to use today.

There you have it…a simple, but fun Thanksgiving craft idea to do with your kids, nieces, nephews, grandkids, etc! Enjoy!
