Halloween has always been one of my favorite days of the year. I love dressing-up in costume, picking pumpkins and carving them, but as soon as I became a mom, I especially enjoy all of the fun art projects/crafts that you can do with your kids. Keenan loves to paint and do art projects, so we have been enjoying lots of Halloween crafts the past few weeks in celebration of the upcoming day!
Here are some simple Halloween crafts for kids that we have done…
Painting pumpkins (I think Keenan enjoys this more than carving them!)
Making paper jack o’ lanterns by cutting out a pumpkin on orange paper and various shapes in black. Let your child glue the pieces however they like.
Spider hand prints. Since spiders only have eight legs, help your child only make a print with four fingers instead of five like we did (Keenan insisted on using all five fingers, even though I explained to him that spiders don’t have ten legs!). We used these for Halloween cards that we sent to the grandparents.
Ghosts using your child’s feet. Paint your child’s feet or have them step onto a plate of white paint, and then onto a black piece of paper. Add the eyes, a mouth and you are done!
Have a good rest of your day! Keenan and I are off to pick up our new puppy this afternoon!!
Questions:
What kinds of Halloween activities and/or crafts do you like to do with your kids?
How do you celebrate Halloween?
What is your favorite day/holiday?
All such great ideas! We have ghost feet from Ayden’s first Halloween that we hand up every year. We made the hand print spiders the other day to put in cards for Grandparents. So cute!
Thanks! I wish I did the ghost feet for Keenan’s first Halloween, but I can’t wait to do his with his baby brother or sisters on one print next year!
