I love receiving homemade gifts, especially ones that are food because you can consume them. It is not just another thing that you have to find a place or a purpose for. The thought, time and effort that went into making the gift is more meaningful to me than just purchasing something and giving it to them (plus, it can be a nice way to save money if you make things yourself!).

I’ve been making homemade pasta sauce (that my husband cans) and candied walnuts from our farm for the past 5 years to give out as gifts. It’s actually become something that our friends and family members look forward to every year, which has become a nice tradition.
