Don’t you love getting back from a vacation feeling rested and recharged? I felt this way when we got back from the beach this past weekend. It made it so much easier getting “back to the grind.” I have to say I don’t always feel rested when we return from vacation (sometimes I need a vacation from a vacation, ha!), especially if we have been on-the-go, doing things everyday. It was refreshing to come back energized and ready to tackle the next 10 busy days before leave again…to MAUI!!

Before I share some pictures and highlights from our family vacation, I must say I only worked out once, running on the beach with our dogs and doing a little mini wod of squats, walking lunges and push ups. Though I walked the stretch of the beach everyday, I pretty much stayed on my duff playing in the sand with the kids, reading (with a glass of wine or good beer in hand!) and enjoying the view. I did indulge in some yummy food that I don’t normally eat on a regular basis, including gooey brownies, ice cream, my sister-in-law’s famous crepes and homemade kettle corn (that I made one afternoon!). Who says leading a Deliciously FIT lifestyle can’t include some indulgences every once in a while, especially when you go on vacation?

I mainly stuck to my regular eating, but a tradition in our family is to have nice breakfasts of pancakes, eggs, bacon, crepes, scones, etc. every morning that we all take turns making, and nice dinners with a few desserts. It was fun to splurge, but I must say my body sure felt the lack of my “usual eats” this morning when I worked out!

Anyhow, here are some pictures from our week…

Little Miss Mirella enjoying the sand for the first time (at first she wasn’t quite sure of the stuff, but after a few days, she got used to it).

You would think I would have taken a picture of some of the delicious food we ate, but I didn’t. I was too busy enjoying it, sorry!
