Do you love to browse through cookbooks or cooking magazines for ideas? Do you look at recipes and think about which ingredients you can substitute for healthier ones? I have to admit I can read cookbooks cover to cover. I love looking at recipes and seeing how I could make them differently, either healthier or adding different spices for a different twist. Experimenting in the kitchen is one of my favorite (and most relaxing) things to do. Some call it weird, but I love it!

If you love to experiment like I do, check out UnitedHealthcare’s new campaign series for women, “We Dare You To Share,” as part of their new Source4Women online community. Source4Women is a wonderful resource for healthy living information on nutrition, exercise, women’s health, health screenings, parenting and even health insurance coverage. It includes interactive seminars, recipes and tips from various healthy lifestyle experts. The reason the community was started is because women tend to be the main healthcare decision makers for their families, so why not provide a one-stop healthy living resource that provides information for the whole family?  Best of all, UnitedHealthcare’s information is free! You don’t have to be a member in order to access it. Just visit their site and find what you are looking for.

In addition to their new Source4Women community, they are promoting a dare each month with a giveaway to go along with it. This month’s dare is to create a healthier meal by swapping in a healthy ingredient! The giveaway is open to anyone. All you need to do is enter here, fill out some basic information, upload a picture of your recipe and include a brief description. The prize is a $400 gift card for groceries (for the winner’s choice of grocery store)! In addition, they will also be holding weekly drawings for $25 VISA gift cards for all those who enter the giveaway!

I just entered the giveaway by substituting oat flour for regular refined flour in pancakes, so I dare you to enter it, too! A $400 gift card for groceries can go a long way!
